I bought this because I really wanted historical references for my collection. Specifically, I've collected books recordings, and references from women of color. I found the differences in the speech by Condoleezza Rice and the others to be quite striking. While Ms Rice spoke of defence, military and foreign policy, the latter spoke of individual rights, government accountability and equality. Sort of a bird's eye view of the two major parties...right or wrong.

I’m enjoying these speeches, they are very inspiring and will be listened to constantly. I’m very thankful for their wisdom and strength that carried them on into their destiny.

This is a book to read slowly to allow the truths to settle in. It is so full of solid teaching, wisdom, and Biblical truths that each page has me nodding in agreement or feeling the sharp edge of conviction. Beautifully written with the intent to help women heal. Joyce shares from her own life and writes as though lives depend on it. Excellent. Solid.

Anyone who’s heard Joyce Meyer’s story knows she’s well-qualified to write a book on this subject. I love Meyer’s devotionals and “Battlefield of the Mind” should be required reading. I ordered “Healing the Soul of a Woman,” not because I have trauma in my past but because Meyer has a way of writing that is so real and relateable. Maybe because I don’t have specific trauma or deep emotional wounds, I found this book harder to get through than some of Meyer’s other works. The beginning of the book sets up the case for women, and their integral part of God’s plan for the world. There is a lot of statistical info about violence against women, sex trafficking, and gender inequality. Then it jumps to more practical aspects of emotional healing, forgiveness, and freedom.I think this is a timely book. It was written by someone who has experienced serious wounds who has come through her hurts and helped so many do the same. Joyce Meyer is so awesome because she is so brutally honest and seems so human. With everything she went through, I know I can overcome the hurts I’ve faced in life.

This book is one of Ms. Meyer's best if not the best, if you are needing emotional healing for a plethora of reasons. There are 23 chapters such as "God Wants The Wounded," "Hurting People Hurt People," "Unload The Guilt and Shame," and "You Are God's Beloved." She is able to draw wisdom from experiences of abuse in her childhood, that she has spent years receiving healing from God, herself, and shares very animatedly for the reader to glean understanding for herself or himself. Although written for women I could see men getting help from this book as well. She writes of ways you can become wounded such as infidelity, physical, emotional, and mental battery, divorce, rejection, betrayal, struggles with weight, victim of a crime, prejudice, death of a child or spouse, inability to have children, long-term illness and more. She stresses that any of these wounds can be healed and redeemed by God, given time with God through study of the Word, prayer, and worship. She goes on to assure us that God has a good plan for our lives, that we are daughters of the King with an inheritance He longs to give us. It is an easy read, very conversational, sharing, and scripture references. She backs up all she teaches with appropriate scripture. This is not only for Christians, anyone can get something from this book. I encourage you, if you are wounded in any way and are struggling this book can be a tool to help and guide you to feeling better...It's very encouraging, inspiring, and straight forward. I highly recommend it, it has changed my life!

Im only about a third of the way into this book, but thats because it is so deep and profoundly touching, that it takes time to digest it. I cant say enough good things about this book! I am a new Christian who had seen Joyce on tv before and really liked her, so when I went looking for christian books I started with her and I have not been disappointed! The companion bible study is also wonderful!

Anyone who has difficulty forgiving people who have done cruel things to them in the past, forgiving themselves, honor the good things in life daily and have a relationship we it God.

Love the math books. I have a 1st grader and a 2nd grader that are both struggling with math. These books keep it interesting. It is not all addition and subtraction. It is shapes, measurement, counting money etc...... Someone said that this book was too easy for their 2nd grader. You know your child so if they are doing pretty well in math then go up a grade. Some pages are easy and others are more difficult. If they were all difficult my kids would get frustrated. I love the review pages too.

It's called the "summer brain drain" the 10-11 week period when kids aren't engaged in formal learning. By the time they return to school in August or September, they may have fallen two reading levels behind and forgotten "2 to 2 1/2 months of the math computational skills that they learned during the school year" according to published research.Public school professionals must expect this because as a parent of elementary-aged children, it is my experience that much of the work done in the first school quarter of the new grade is spent reviewing and relearning the work of the last grade - especially in math. Many school districts have gotten smart about reading and assign summer reading lists and book logs. Based on the research, they would be well advised to require the same thing for math.In the meantime, there's the Sylvan math workbooks including BASIC MATH SUCCESS to prepare your 2nd grader for next steps. It's ok - but mostly duplicates the information contained in Adobe online Help.

Good product.

I recently took the Essentails of Adobe RoboHelp 9 course on-line and used the book provided. I found it very streamline with easy step by step instructions when performing the exercises in the workbook.I had very little background with RoboHelp and now have learned so much! I realize how much this one book could broaden my knowledge and skills with RoboHelp ...

All of the step-by-step instructions require you to use specific files and projects that you download from the IconLogic Data Files server. The text tells you which ones to open, and you manipulate them to learn the various aspects of Robohelp 9.My employer does not permit me to download any of the files and projects - and they comprise the groundwork for this book. For this reason, I can't replicate many of the instructions and walk-throughs unless I create files of my own that meet the same specifications, or modify existing ones. This makes the process time-consuming and distracting.Fortunately for me, I've worked with Robohelp for more than 15 years, so I can find my way around. I would be lost, though, if I had never worked with Robohelp before and was not allowed to download the required files. The format and content of the book is fine - provided you have access to the files.

I first discovered the art of Frank Frazetta through the film Fire & Ice. I was completely blown away by the visuals so I did some research on the man behind it. Little did I know he was also responsible for one of my favorite album covers of all time, Wolfmother, who used The Sea Witch (a painting also presented in this book).I wanted to get a book that had all of his most famous paintings and information about each one. I did a little research and found a couple books that fit the criteria, but decided to get this one because of the positive amazon reviews.Well I'm here to continue that cycle. I am very pleased with this book as it provided everything I could have wanted and more in a single edition. Not only does it have his famous paintings, but also several rarities that span his entire career. There are in depth essays and discussions about his art and its effect on culture.I found this book well worth the purchase and have also punched the other two books in the series as well. Overall I'm glad this series of books is available because it is a quality compilation of some amazing artwork.

This book is a treasure trove of art and information about Frank Frazetta. It is much better than I could have hoped for. If you get a chance to purchase it, don't hesitate. I got a great price and the book is like new. I'm very happy with this purchase and the seller is the best.

I discovered Frazetta as a teenager through the 5-volume Ballantine books, which mysteriously vanished from my collection over the years. Not sure why it took me so long to update with Icon, but it was always just a matter of time. Unlike the Ballantine books, Icon and its sister volumes (Legacy and Testament) offer a wealth of information about Frazetta himself, the circumstances surrounding his ascent to fantasy art godhood, and details about the paintings that got him there. It's great to be able to put a complete human being behind the legendary name, and the artwork here is glorious and accurately colored. All 3 books together show a greater range of Frank's repertoire than what I remember from the Ballantine books. Nicely done, Underwood books and Fenner & Fenner.

If you love the work of Frank Frazetta, as I do, you want this volume in your collection. along with the art work it's a mini-history of his career, with insights into who he worked for and when, and how these works came to be.

This book contains a beautiful collection of Frank Frazetta's art. I'm just starting to read all of the background stories, and the samples I've read are very interesting. It is a great large format coffee table book.

About the Author

Helen Fitzgerald is an author and lecturer certified in thanatology by the Association for Death Education and Counseling. For twenty-three years she was the coordinator of the Grief Program for Mental Health Services in Fairfax County, Virginia, where she conducted many groups for adults, as well as for grieving children ranging from preschool age through the high school years. In July 2000 she retired from that position and then served as the director of training for the American Hospice Foundation. Her books include The Grieving Child, The Mourning Handbook, and The Grieving Teen.

I attended a workshop taught by Helen Fitzgerald in 2004, in Fairfax. We were blown away by her approach, and I bought a copy of this book. I have found the psychoeducational portions to be invaluable when working with adolscent clients, and the structure and activities give them some concrete and safe ways to grieve. My original copy disappeared in the last office move. So glad to find it on amazon.

A very detailed table of contents makes a statement and "What You Can Do" as an empowering response through the sequence of topics. Users can jump ahead or move back as they continue in the grieving process. The emphasis on "do what is best for you" comes through. The reading level is on the upper end of the scale for teens.

Helen Fitzgerald has all the experience needed to be an excellent source of what is "normal" for a teen who is grieving. There is so little out there to help a grieving teen but this book is a huge help. My daughter lost a friend 4 years ago when she was 12 and still struggles with the grieving process. I bought this book to help her but I read it first. The book is for a teen who has lost anyone close to them-friend, parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt or uncle. This book was recommended to me by someone at Highmark Caring Place.
